About Chitai Golu Devta Temple

Chitai Golu Devta Temple, dedicated to the local God, Golju, is famous for the devotion pilgrims practice towards it. The temple is said to have been constructed in the 12th century by a general belonging to the Chand dynasty. Over the centuries, the temple came to be known as the place where the Golu Devta provided help to all his devotees.

One of the most interesting spots at the temple is the unique collection of brass bells of all sizes that have been donated to the temple over the centuries by thousands of devotees. These bells signify the offerings and thanksgiving the devotees’ gift to the God on the fulfillment of their wish. It's also interesting to see the stamp papers of legal proceedings draped on the walls of the temple by devotees stuck in legal hassles. This points to the fact that the temple once served as a place of justice in the days of yore.
